About
Our facility in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our warehouse, focusing on the movement, organization, and tracking of materials. You will be responsible for loading and unloading shipments, transferring materials between different areas of the warehouse, and ensuring inventory is accurately stored. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and all Material Handlers are expected to follow strict safety protocols and wear the appropriate PPE. This position requires physical dexterity and the ability to perform significant lifting, often up to 50 lbs. Experience with forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated areas, ensuring stability and organization.
- Assist with inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all logistics procedures for material movement and tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and safety practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
