About
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our distribution center. Your duties will include loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments, transporting goods using material handling equipment, and organizing inventory. A strong commitment to Safety is non-negotiable; you will be expected to follow all established Safety procedures and consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires physical stamina for significant Lifting and the ability to operate various types of warehouse machinery. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and shipping containers accurately and safely.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment to transport materials.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper inventory control.
- Perform regular safety checks on equipment and report any deficiencies.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stocktaking activities.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Follow all standard operating procedures for material handling and logistics.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and meet shipping/receiving deadlines.
- Strictly adhere to all PPE requirements and company Safety policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, forklift operator, or in a related warehouse role.
- Proven ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Certification on specific equipment (e.g., forklift) is a plus.
- Capacity for regular, heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Solid understanding of warehouse Safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
