Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to support our inventory operations. The Inventory Clerk will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting physical counts, organizing stock, and updating data in our MRP system . This position ensures that materials and products are accurately tracked and readily available to meet production and business needs.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires precision and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory Tracking & Data Entry

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using the company’s MRP system .
  • Enter data related to received, issued, and transferred inventory items.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of discrepancies or shortages.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are properly documented and recorded.

2. Physical Inventory Counts

  • Assist with scheduled inventory counts, including cycle counts and year-end physical inventories.
  • Compare physical stock to MRP records and report variances.
  • Tag, label, and identify stock for easier tracking and auditing.

3. Stock Organization & Maintenance

  • Help organize inventory storage areas to ensure easy access and efficient use of space.
  • Follow established storage procedures to prevent product damage or loss.
  • Keep inventory areas clean, orderly, and compliant with health and safety guidelines.

4. Receiving & Stocking

  • Assist with receiving shipments, verifying received items against packing slips or purchase orders.
  • Label, document, and stock incoming inventory in designated locations.
  • Record all incoming stock into the MRP system promptly and accurately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain organized records of all inventory movements and transactions.
  • Generate basic inventory reports from the MRP system as needed.
  • Help prepare documentation for inventory audits or inspections.

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to support accurate and timely inventory management.
  • Communicate stock availability and issues to relevant departments.
  • Assist with moving materials between departments or locations when necessary.

7. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Follow company safety protocols when handling, storing, or transporting inventory.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or potential hazards.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional training in inventory management, logistics, or supply chain is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years in an inventory, warehouse, or clerical role preferred.
  • Prior experience using an MRP system or similar inventory software is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, especially with data entry and inventory systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain accurate records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with barcode scanning or inventory tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment (if required).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting or moving items up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • May involve bending, reaching, or climbing ladders when accessing stock.
