Summary: An inventory specialist plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the Co-op’s product supply. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory, ensuring stock organization and accuracy, and processing incoming deliveries, returns, credits, pack slips, and invoices. This role involves a mix of tasks that may require being on your feet or at a desk for extended periods. This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inventory cycle counts and report discrepancies to Procurement Manager
  • Check actual store inventory against computerized records.
  • Receive store deliveries and update computerized records with new quantities.
  • Review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stock room.
  • Utilize an inventory system to track purchase orders, credits, and returns.
  • Handle returns for defective and expired merchandise.
  • Assist in creating and staging inter-store transfers.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in submitting purchase orders for inventory replenishment.
  • Assist in stocking merchandise on the sales floor and in the stock room.

Required Skills/ Qualifications

  • Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of walking and standing.
  • Proficient in using computers, including point of sale and inventory software.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Previous experience in the retail or supply chain sector preferred.
  • Experience with Epicor point-of-sale software is a bonus.

Work Environment

  • Working hours are split between the receiving room, and sales floor.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday-Friday.
  • $18.00-$22.00/hour (DOE)
