Position Title: Inventory Associate
Department: Warehouse / Production
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Production Supervisor
Position Summary
The Inventory Associate responsible for supporting the production floor by accurately pulling, staging, and delivering materials needed for manufacturing operations. This role works closely with production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment by retrieving materials from secured storage areas (the “cage”) and maintaining inventory accuracy.
This position plays a key role in keeping production running efficiently while maintaining company standards for safety, organization, and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Pull and stage materials from the inventory cage based on production orders and work instructions.
- Delivers or preps materials to designated areas on the production floor to support daily operations.
- Verify accuracy of materials pulled against work orders, pick lists, or production schedules.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the inventory cage and storage areas.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing incoming materials.
- Track and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damaged materials to supervision.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure materials are available to meet production timelines.
- Follow inventory control procedures to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Assist with cycle counts and periodic inventory audits.
- Safely operate material handling equipment (if applicable) such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Safety Responsibilities
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, safety glasses, and other required gear.
- Follow all company safety policies as well as state and federal regulations.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings on the production floor, including forklift traffic and machinery.
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, inventory, or material handling preferred.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, pick lists, and basic documentation.
- Basic understanding of inventory control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Ability to work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with varying conditions.
