Required Skills: As a Principal Software Engineer (Technical Leadership) focused on Machine Learning, your responsibilities will include: Driving the team’s objectives and technical strategy to enhance the efficiency of the overarching organization. Effectively articulating complex features and systems. Analyzing industry and company trends to evaluate and develop new technologies. Collaborating with organizational leaders to elevate team and organizational performance. Identifying new opportunities within the organization and influencing key stakeholders on staffing and prioritization. Establishing the long-term technical vision and roadmap for major cross-company initiatives. Gathering and synthesizing requirements to create an efficient feature roadmap. Diagnosing and resolving performance and scalability challenges, while mitigating technical debt. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A demonstrated history of planning multi-year roadmaps that align short-term projects with long-term missions. Experience leading extensive cross-functional or industry-wide engineering initiatives. Proficiency in using data and analysis to clarify technical challenges and provide actionable insights. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across functions and drive solutions. A background in mentoring and influencing executive stakeholders across organizations. 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language or 8+ years with a PhD. Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience with data structures and algorithms, including graph theory and optimization techniques. Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. An understanding of information retrieval concepts, including indexing, querying, and ranking. A Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Knowledge of NLP techniques, including text preprocessing, tokenization, and sentiment analysis. A record of integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and deliver measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements). Experience implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality reviews). Demonstrated commitment to ongoing AI skill development and staying updated with emerging AI technologies. Public Compensation: $219,000/year to $301,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
