We are all employee-owners at HDR, which is the foundation of our collaborative culture that connects employees around the world.You will be part of our Advanced Technology for Surface Transportation business class, supporting the emerging areas of ITS, Lighting, Signalization, and Tolls design, for a diverse range of clients.In the role of ITS Design Engineer, we'll count on you to: Perform complex traffic design projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of ITS, Lighting, and Signalization final design plans, conceptual design plans, and other design documentsMake decisions on design and engineering procedures as neededFunction as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, but project management is not sole focus of this positionSupervise small staff of professionals and technicians as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with Lighting, ITS, and Signalization designHands-on experience using various CADD tools such as OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and FDOT Connect, and lighting photometric analysis tools, such as AGi32, etc.Experience performing electrical circuit calculations, such as voltage drop and overcurrent protectionExperience working with state DOTs, and other local agenciesBusiness development and mentoring skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, results-orientedQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degreeExperience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/designRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Detailed hands on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, Autocad and Guide Sign softwareDetailed hands on experience conducting operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and AimsunDetailed hands on experience conducting safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety SoftwareProficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, WordStrong verbal and written skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
