Mobile Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Van Mobile) Location: Manchester & Surrounding Areas
We're looking for an experienced Mobile Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team, supporting a portfolio of commercial buildings across the Manchester region. You'll be working independently, managing your own schedule, and keeping sites running safely and efficiently. A company van, fuel card and full uniform/PPE are provided.

What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out routine PPM on all electrical and mechanical plant in line with site schedules. Responding to reactive maintenance tasks, including electrical, environmental and general building issues. Supporting concessionary stores and handling light fabric tasks when required. Diagnosing faults and restoring plant to service quickly and safely. Monitoring BMS systems to maintain building conditions. Ensuring all subcontractor activities are safe, compliant and aligned with contract requirements. Operating the Permit-to-Work system in line with BGIS and client safety procedures. Completing all paperwork for PPM, reactive and breakdown works and updating the CAFM system (e.g. Maximo). Preparing and working to Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Ensuring spares and materials are available; providing parts lists and timescales when required. Maintaining clean, safe, secure plant rooms and presenting a professional image at all times. Supporting near-miss reporting, dynamic risk assessments and escalation of non-compliances. Ensuring LOTO procedures are followed correctly. Working closely with clients, subcontractors and the BGIS team to deliver excellent service. Completing any other reasonable task as requested by site management.
What We're Looking For
NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent. Strong experience working within commercial maintenance environments. Good electrical fault‑finding skills across typical building services systems. Knowledge of mechanical plant (desirable but not essential). Familiarity with BMS systems and interpreting alarms/graphics. Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo. Good understanding of Health & Safety, including Permit‑to‑Work and LOTO. Professional, proactive and able to work independently on multiple sites. Full UK driving licence.
