Exciting times are ahead as we gear up for a major construction programme in Port Talbot, South Wales! Over the next 3 to 4 years, we’ll be undertaking heavy construction and civil engineering works across various industrial fronts, starting with enabling works in Q3: 2025.

The Package Engineer RoleAs a vital member of the project team, reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will:
- Oversee the design, coordination, and management of various subcontractors in your area of work.
- Interface with internal departments and external agencies, including Architects, Engineers, Construction Workers, and Client agents.
- Ensure that SRM’s obligations to subcontractors are clearly understood and met.
- Organize and conduct regular site progress meetings with subcontractors to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Keep the Chief Engineer and Project Manager/Project Director updated on all issues.
Key areas of focus will be setting out. Ideally, you will:
- Hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Be able to prepare a 3-week look-ahead programme with the assistance of a project planner.
- Have proven experience in package management.
- Experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator is a plus.
- Be knowledgeable about building products, construction details, and relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Have or be working towards a construction industry-related professional membership (e.g., ICE, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, IStructE).
