We are looking for a Junior Internal Auditor who will report to the Senior Internal Auditor, and who’ll be tasked with supporting the internal audit plan execution. As part of your role, you’ll be providing insightful value to the organisation’s activities by contributing to the improvement of several key business processes.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Assist in planning and preparing for internal audits, including gathering background materials and supporting documentation.
Conduct audit fieldwork under supervision: test internal controls, review transactions, perform walkthroughs, and verify compliance.
Conduct interviews, reviews document, develops and administers surveys, composes summary memos and prepares working papers.
Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations for improvement using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.
Collaborate with business units and provide audit support across a range of departments and processes
Develop and maintain productive team-oriented client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with coworkers.
Perform related work as assigned by audit management.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, engineering, business intelligence or any fields of interest
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Optional
- Two years of full-time experience in auditing, quality control, process mapping, operations, accounting, business analysis, or program evaluation.
- Must also have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of and skill in applying internal auditing and/or accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices.
- Knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices.
- Knowledge of contemporary risk management, control, and control frameworks.
- Familiarity with the common indicators of fraud.
- Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.
- Skill in resolving problems.
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, systems documentation, audit packages, and other business software to prepare workpapers, reports, memos, summaries, and analyses.
- Skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skills in presenting findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious team-oriented working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and external contacts, and work effectively in a professional team environment.
