Lead Database Administrator
plays a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative technologies to enhance the technical capabilities at Cox Automotive. To thrive in this position, candidates must be adept at navigating a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining effective communication with team members and business stakeholders. This role also requires strong independent working skills across multiple simultaneous projects. Key Responsibilities: Engage in functional test planning and testing for designated applications and projects. Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives within assigned areas. Contribute to knowledge sharing through thorough documentation of work. Respond promptly and effectively to production issues and take ownership until resolution is achieved. Tackle database performance issues, capacity challenges, and replication concerns. Install and maintain database software. Manage database backups and recovery processes using RMAN and/or Network Appliance Snapshots. Oversee the security of database structures and corporate data. Develop procedures, triggers, and SQL scripts for development teams. Help define and implement database standards. Review scripts submitted by the Development team to ensure compliance with established standards. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot errors as necessary. Design and deploy highly available production systems using technologies like Active Data Guard, Oracle Goldengate, Advanced Queuing, Real Application Clusters (RAC), and Oracle Enterprise Manager. Create Ansible playbooks for managing Database infrastructure. Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support. Qualifications: Minimum:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.) with 4 years of experience in database administration. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered. Extensive experience with Oracle database technologies, including PL/SQL development and SQL tuning. Proficiency in setting up and maintaining data replication using Oracle
GoldenGate . Experience supporting database infrastructure in AWS. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting. Experience configuring database network connectivity and managing backup/recovery processes. Background in supporting high-volume websites using multi-tier architectures. Hands-on expertise with Oracle
Real Application Clusters (RAC)
and their best practices. Experience analyzing and recommending technologies for high availability and disaster recovery. Preferred: Over 10 years of experience in Oracle database technologies. Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL. Experience in developing Ansible playbooks. Experience in managing Amazon RDS, EC2, S3, VPC, and related infrastructure in AWS. Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c. Compensation: The base salary ranges from $99,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually, influenced by factors such as location and the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional compensation may be available through incentive programs.
