Advisory Teacher

Location: Ashurst, Hampshire

Contract: Term time only

Hours: 3 days per week (21 hours)

Salary: £36,000 pro rata

Our Integrated Services Programme (ISP) is designed to surround children with a comprehensive range of support services, including social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists. Together, we create a therapeutic approach to fostering that truly makes a difference.

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic, skilled, and innovative teacher to join our dedicated team. In this pivotal role, you will:

• Support the education of children across the South region.
• Offer guidance to foster carers, schools, and a wide network of professionals.
• Utilize your adaptability to teach across all key stages and support children with complex needs.

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Relevant classroom experience
• A flexible and creative approach to supporting children's education
• Strong decision-making skills to resolve complex educational issues
• A working knowledge of the educational needs and entitlements for children and young people

As an Advisory Teacher, you will:

• Advise on educational provisions for children within the centre.
• Monitor the educational progress of all children associated with the centre.
• Support centre staff on educational matters.
• Assist in developing education support policies and procedures.
• Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings to advise on childcare and personal education plans.
• Liaise with professionals to ensure each child's educational needs are met.
• Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals.
• Maintain accurate and effective education case records.
• Promote relationships with schools and local authority professionals.
