JOB TITLE: Senior Data Engineer (Data/ Java/ Kafka/ Data)
Our chapter comprises teams that work on delivering a new world-class Digital Fraud Platform to serve the needs of millions of Fidelity customers. We are looking for highly motivated, passionate, and inquisitive product-aware engineers to join the Fidelity Enterprise Cyber Security - Customer Protection Technology Group to work in a collaborative, iterative, and fast-paced environment, while delivering world-class security solutions to ensure Fidelity customers are protected in a constantly evolving cyber-threat landscape.
The Team
Our team builds a new cloud-native Digital Fraud Platform to enable the differentiated Fidelity customer experience and to reduce/prevent fraud, stay current with new paradigms for data sharing by Fidelity business units, and drive technology simplicity across the firm. We focus on delivering end-to-end cloud-native digital solutions where scalability, stability and security are our highest priority. We are obsessed with simplifying complex problems by automating everything and monitoring the right things! As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be applying your strong software development and test automation skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve Fidelity customer-facing software solutions.
The Expertise You Have Expertise in building and testing large-scale AWS cloud-native digital enterprise data heavy applications on micro-services, serverless and event-driven architectures. Deep hands-one experience with handling data and containerized Java/SpringBoot REST APIs using Kubernetes/AWS EKS; Hands on and excellent knowledge of cloud-based high-stream event messaging/Kafka (ex. market open) implementations with columious data movement/reconciliation. Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying containerized applications in a highly secured environment, Python experience is a plus Working experience of distributed databases, likes of Yugabyte, Aerospike, etc. • Ownership of the entire secure SDLC, and experience with DevOps CI/CD practices, TDD, BDD to rapidly deliver, measure, and iterate features to customers while minimizing risk using practices blue-green deployments and feature toggles.
• A mindset of prompt first, test-first development and a deep experience in creating unit and environment-agnostic integration and functional tests, working knowledge of modern test and mock frameworks and service virtualization tools. We believe in testing and that quality is everyone's job!
The Skills You Bring
A proven foundation in software engineering - bachelor's degree + preferred, 6+ years' experience. • Deep hands-one experience with data, containerized Java/SpringBoot REST APIs, Python using Kubernetes/AWS EKS;
• Working expertise of Kafka and the distributed db pattern.
Experience and comfort working in an agile environment (Scrum and Kanban).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration across technology and business partners without having a direct authority over people.
