Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded software and hardware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Integrate embedded systems with existing PLC, SCADA, and MES platforms on the production floor. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and debugging for embedded systems issues impacting manufacturing operations. Optimize embedded system performance, reliability, and efficiency for high-volume production environments. Develop and maintain firmware for microcontrollers and DSPs used in production machinery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications for new manufacturing processes. Ensure embedded systems adhere to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality control measures in manufacturing. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development on microcontrollers. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal programming. Strong hardware debugging skills using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, CAN, Ethernet/IP, SPI, I2C). Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and contribute to hardware-software integration in a manufacturing context. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, OPC UA). Familiarity with industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA) or manufacturing execution systems (MES). Exposure to IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) platforms and data acquisition for production. Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, medical devices, aerospace).
