As the Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions that support business needs. This role involves working with complex data models and SQL scripts to ensure data integrity and performance. We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a full-time, salaried opportunity that is hybrid in Wilmington, DE. The candidate selected will help create, manage, and optimize data solutions. What You'll Do: Create, maintain, and tune complex SQL scripts Create and maintain existing SQL-based custom reports Maintain complex data models Create and maintain data interfaces (scripted ETL) between our on-premise Oracle environment and MS SQL Server on the Azure-based platform Build and maintain Oracle Data Marts and associated ETL processes Demonstrate familiarity with Inmon data warehousing principles and business intelligence data architecture Utilize strong analysis and data reconciliation skills; an accounting background is a plus Import/export data from SQL Server/Oracle XML and CLOB queries and convert data to standard Oracle tables Complete tasks with minimal direction, meet requirements as documented, and follow team procedures and processes Document processes used to complete tasks and adhere to the team's QA/documentation process Analyze existing data structures and queries, develop/update reports, queries, data loads, and interfaces Accurately develop database queries, reports, data loads/extracts logically from scratch Create new and maintain/tune existing SQL queries and procedures Create and maintain existing SQL-based custom reports What You'll Need: 7 years of experience as a Senior Database Analyst/Architect BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject Extensive experience in all aspects of Oracle SQL programming and query manipulation Experience working with MS SQL Server databases Extensive experience working with large sets of data and resolving data-oriented issues Extensive experience with data profiling and data quality assurance, including creating an audit trail for peer review of work completed Extensive experience in tuning queries for optimal performance Ability to work directly with business users to quickly translate business reporting requests/requirements and produce a vetted work product Strong communication skills, both written and oral Ability to investigate and identify query performance-related issues Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Team player Good time-management skills Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the team's success Preferred: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject Physical Demands: Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor The pay range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 annually (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education.
