We are seeking a diligent and efficient Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order lists, ensuring that the correct quantity and product are selected. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated locations based on pick tickets or scanner data.
- Verify picked items against order requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Properly stage picked items for packing and shipping.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with warehouse standards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as needed (training provided).
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks as required.
- Contribute to team efforts by assisting other departments when necessary.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and management.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to read and understand pick tickets or electronic scanning devices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to perform frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the importance of PPE in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory management principles.
