Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying order details, preparing shipping documents, labeling packages, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all shipments meet company and carrier requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be a key point of contact for inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring that goods are dispatched correctly and on time. While this role is primarily administrative, some physical tasks may be involved, such as lifting boxes up to 30 lbs and moving packages. Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify contents of outgoing shipments against orders.
  • Prepare accurate shipping labels, manifests, and bills of lading.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all packages are properly labeled and addressed.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and documentation.
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
  • Operate shipping software and equipment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of shipments as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize required PPE during any physical tasks.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or administrative support.
  • Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform some light lifting (up to 30 lbs).
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
