About
Our busy distribution center in Houston, Texas is looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our operations. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring that every item is accounted for and processed correctly. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be paramount in maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the smooth flow of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, and understands the importance of safety in a warehouse environment. This position is essential for our supply chain, and we are committed to providing a supportive and safe workplace, including mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant physical activity including regular Lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Unpack, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Identify and report any damaged or missing items.
- Label and tag all received goods according to company standards.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system accurately and timely.
- Organize received goods and stage them for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Collaborate with the inventory control team to resolve discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with PPE and its importance in material handling.
