We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Order Pickers to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this vital role, you will contribute directly to the efficiency of our logistics and fulfillment operations by accurately selecting and preparing customer orders. Your primary responsibilities will include reading order sheets or using RF scanners to locate and pick specific items from warehouse shelves, ensuring accuracy in quantities and product codes. You will also be responsible for preparing picked items for packing and staging them for shipment. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety procedures, including the use of PPE, is essential. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations based on order specifications.
- Verify item numbers, descriptions, and quantities against pick lists or electronic devices.
- Utilize RF scanners or other technology to guide the picking process and record movements.
- Consolidate picked items and prepare them for the packing and shipping stages.
- Stage orders in designated areas, ensuring they are ready for logistics handling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all housekeeping protocols.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment as directed.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with inventory or orders to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that involve frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the order fulfillment process.
- Participate in team activities to meet daily productivity goals.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in order picking or warehouse operations is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates. Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels accurately. Must be able to work efficiently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Capable of performing physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate orders. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Basic understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control is beneficial. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Must strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This role is situated within a warehouse environment where temperature conditions may vary. Continuous adherence to safety standards is required, including the mandatory use of specified PPE. The position involves significant physical activity, including lifting, reaching, and moving products. Safety training will be provided to ensure proper lifting techniques and awareness of PPE requirements within our logistics operations.
