We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Material Handler to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will be essential to the smooth flow of materials within our warehouse, supporting various logistics operations. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading materials from trucks, moving inventory throughout the facility, and assisting with the organization and stocking of goods. This position requires the ability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials and products from trucks and other transportation vehicles.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials within the warehouse.
- Transport items to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes, verifying quantities and condition of goods.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Support inventory control efforts by accurately moving and staging materials.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve operational goals within the logistics department.
- Perform tasks involving significant lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable. Must be able to perform physical tasks requiring strength, stamina, and dexterity. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 70 pounds, regularly. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Strong understanding of safe lifting techniques and material handling practices. Commitment to adhering to all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately. Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial. Good teamwork and communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This position operates within a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory, including the consistent use of appropriate PPE. The role requires regular physical exertion, including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing. Safety training will be provided, emphasizing proper lifting techniques and the importance of PPE in our logistics operations.
