We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our **Logistics** team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is central to ensuring that our products are shipped accurately, on time, and in good condition. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining detailed records. A strong commitment to **Safety** and operational efficiency is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all necessary shipping documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Verify outgoing orders against sales orders and pick lists.
- Schedule and coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickups.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled, addressed, and packaged for safe transport.
- Operate shipping software to track outgoing shipments and generate reports.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and **Safety**-conscious shipping department.
- Strictly follow **PPE** guidelines and all **Safety** protocols.
- Assist with the **Lifting** and loading of shipments when necessary, using appropriate techniques.
- Communicate shipment status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and **Logistics** flow of the warehouse.
Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is preferred. Must possess strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency with shipping software. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Knowledge of **PPE** requirements and a dedication to **Safety** are essential. Understanding of **Lifting** safety and warehouse operations. Excellent communication skills are required. This **Logistics** position demands a proactive and responsible individual.
