As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. This role is critical to our logistics chain, ensuring that goods are transported, loaded, and unloaded with precision. You will operate various types of forklifts to handle palletized goods, stock inventory, and prepare shipments. Our commitment to Safety is paramount, and we require all operators to strictly adhere to safety procedures, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain their equipment diligently. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a proven track record of safe operation. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and load materials.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment to ensure Safety and functionality.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Properly stack and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or Safety hazards immediately.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of logistics operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, typically up to 50 lbs, and manual tasks when required.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Understanding of basic inventory management and logistics principles.
