About

Growing medical and recreational cannabis manufacturers on the East Coast. Our mission is simple: grow the highest-quality weed at prices everyone can afford.
We're looking for passionate people to join us in our mission to democratize cannabis-or as we like to say, to
"Weed the People."
With a dialed-in grow operation and a bold new brand refresh, we're ready to dominate the MD/DC market-and have a little fun while we're at it.
Data Engineer
Our Data Engineer will be responsible for taking ownership of our analytical data infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and business intelligence, equally responsible for the technical implementation of data pipelines and the strategic work of helping the organization ask better questions of its data. The ideal candidate brings both strong engineering fundamentals and the consultative instincts to translate ambiguous business challenges into well-structured, reliable data solutions.
Your role in caring for our plants:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Evaluate, onboard, and integrate internal and third-party data sources, designing reliable ingestion pipelines that align with OLAP best practices.
Design and maintain columnar data models, including schema architecture, materialized views, and ongoing migration management to support analytical performance at scale.
Write and optimize complex analytical SQL to support reporting, ad hoc analysis, and the development of reusable query layers consumed by applications and business intelligence tooling.
Establish and maintain data quality frameworks, data lineage documentation, and pipeline health monitoring to ensure the integrity and trustworthiness of data across the organization.
Partner with business and operations stakeholders to understand their analytical needs, validate that the right questions are being asked, and ensure the data exists and is structured to answer them.
Proactively identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within the data that surface insights leadership may not have known to pursue.
Build and maintain type-safe, performant query APIs that expose analytical data to applications, dashboards, and reporting layers.
Own the health, reliability, and observability of the analytical backend, ensuring consistent data quality, pipeline transparency, and infrastructure stability.
All other duties as necessary.
Qualifications we ask you to have:
For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
We ask that you have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated ownership of production data pipelines and analytical infrastructure.
We ask that you have demonstrated experience designing and implementing data pipelines for analytical workloads, with a strong grasp of OLAP principles and columnar data modeling.
We ask that you have advanced SQL proficiency, including window functions, aggregations, query optimization, and the ability to translate complex business questions into well-structured analytical queries.
We ask that you have hands-on experience with high-performance analytical databases such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
We ask that you have proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python in a data engineering context.
We ask that you have experience with real-time or near-real-time data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Redpanda, or equivalent.
We ask that you are familiar with data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and data lineage, with a track record of treating data reliability as a first-class concern.
We ask that you have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical perspectives.
We prefer that you have experience working in data-rich industries such as retail, healthcare, logistics, or cannabis
Additional skills which will help you excel in your role:
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, HTML/CSS, and PowerShell.
Experience with Power BI dashboards and data visualization.
Prior exposure to financial systems, forecasting tools, or cannabis compliance platforms (e.g., METRC) is a plus.
Understanding of modern DevOps practices, version control (Git), and cloud infrastructure.
A consultative approach to problem-solving. Asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and advocating for data quality and integrity.
Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and drive analytical initiatives from conception through delivery.
Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Able to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
