Job Overview: The Application Manager is primarily responsible for providing day-to-day leadership to the functional team for all core activities pertaining to the planning and execution of projects related to application build, maintenance & optimization. The Application Manager is responsible for the overall design and development of the application. The Application Manager is expected to be knowledgeable about organizational policies, procedures and business operations, as well as the area of business they are representing and the functionality available in the application(s). The Application Manager keeps the IT Leadership team, project team, & operational stakeholders abreast of any key changes & impacts. The Application Manager keeps abreast of software/vendor release information, assesses the relevance of any changes by partnering with business operations, works with vendors and end-users to tailor the system to the organization needs, and participates in the customer readiness activities. The Application Manager engages in mapping current state workflows to future state workflows development, application design and development, testing support, issues resolution, application integration, implementation, and ongoing support activities. The Application Manager ensures the completion of in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of vendor software. The Application Manager is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with vendor applications and assess implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflows and operations. The Application Manager ensures alignment of all application activities with cultural and clinical transformation objectives. The Application Manager identifies and manages resistance to change as related to their respective application of responsibility. This role is specifically focused on managing the team assigned to transform access within RWJBH's Medical Group via implementation, maintenance, and optimization of: referral workflows/workqueues, scheduling (visit types, waitlist, FastPass, etc.), decision trees - both scheduler and patient-facing (online scheduling), ticket scheduling/bundling, provider search terms, and Hello World patient messaging. Importantly, this role will partner directly with management on the Medical Group team to ensure full-scale optimization from design, implementation, and maintenance through to further enhancements. Qualifications: Education: Preferred: Master's degree in Health Care, Information Technology, Business, or related field Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience Work Experience: Preferred: Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in a health care setting and management of IT team Minimum: Three (3) years relevant experience and management of IT/Quality program or team Experience with implementing and/or supporting financial/clinical information systems and/or large-scale and complex standardization and implementation of an application is highly desirable Demonstrated workflow process analysis and design, communication and interpersonal skills, facilitation/training skills, project management capabilities, and leadership orientation Strong assertiveness skills and ability to manage conflict in a variety of situations Superior organizational and people management skills Experience with managing employees, including coaching and performance management Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff Demonstrated ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams Demonstrated application design and implementation skills Experience in Application or system installations preferred Knowledge of business/clinical/operational areas application is applicable to. Demonstration of Leadership positions in area of expertise Licenses and Certifications: Minimum: Certification in Epic Cadence, Prelude Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable. For certain clinical applications, clinical licensure is preferred and may be required as specified in Job Aid. Required skillset: Epic Cadence & Prelude certified (Referrals and/or CRM/Call Management preferred) Extensive experience with search terms, decision trees, open/direct scheduling & scheduling optimization including ticket scheduling/bundling, etc. Application Description: Applications include Cadence Enterprise Scheduling, CRM/Call Management, Prelude Registration, Referral Management, and self-check-in kiosk (Welcome) for patients to schedule visits and procedures within Epic. The applications provide tools that help improve patient services, keep appropriate slots open, and make efficient use of staff and other resources. Epic MyChart integration helps patient self-schedule and cancel appointments to boost patient satisfaction.
