Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. Your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
  • Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment or adjustments.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
  • Assist in training new team members on inventory control procedures.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Must be comfortable with frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs.

This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced logistics environment. Experience with WMS software is highly desirable. A strong understanding of warehousing best practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.
