Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nurse Practitioner Senior to provide comprehensive patient care with limited or no on-site physician oversight. This role is responsible for conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications (including controlled substances within guidelines), and developing individualized care plans. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, autonomy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality public health services.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Provide comprehensive care to child, adolescent, and adult patients within licensed scope of practice
Obtain complete medical histories and perform thorough physical examinations
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests
Prescribe medications and treatments per practice agreement
Develop and implement care plans, including preventive health strategies and education
Coordinate care and referrals with physicians and community providers
Clinical Documentation
Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with legal and clinical standards
Develop differential diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care documentation
Communicate findings and care plans clearly to patients
Program Support & Leadership
Assist with clinic program planning, evaluation, and protocol development
Support clinic flow, productivity goals, and quality improvement initiatives
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to clinical staff as needed
Promote professional development and continuing education
Community Engagement
Participate in health fairs, screenings, and community outreach programs
Serve as a resource for public health initiatives and community partners
Required Qualifications
Active licensure as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Practitioner in Virginia
Current CPR/BLS certification
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical nursing practice, disease processes, diagnostic testing, and pharmacology
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
