Job Description Join the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Media Services team, where you will play a pivotal role in tackling complex technical challenges and leading the development of transformative cloud services for innovative consumer video applications. As a Lead Software Engineering Principal, you will design and develop cutting-edge cloud services while mentoring a talented group of developers. We seek a candidate with a robust background in leading the design, development, and operation of enterprise-level cloud services, with a particular focus on media services and video applications. Your expertise will be crucial as you guide fellow engineers and collaborate across teams, driving complex technical projects with autonomy while ensuring high standards of delivery within the team. Responsibilities Design, implement, validate, and document critical components of a distributed, service-oriented architecture, establishing your designs as benchmarks in key areas such as availability, scalability, and observability.
Lead significant projects and elevate the team's capabilities through active mentorship and coaching.
Ensure reliable and automated deployment of services, encompassing foundational infrastructure and dependencies.
Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices to foster innovation and compliance.
Launch new cloud services and champion operational excellence.
Collaborate with architects and technical leads to define and achieve the team's technical vision.
Establish effective collaboration across globally distributed engineering teams.
Set and enforce software development standards, processes, and best practices to ensure quality.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 5 years of software development experience in modern programming languages, particularly Java and/or Go.
Proven experience in large-scale software development, focusing on cloud services and distributed systems. Experience in Video Streaming, Real-Time Communications (WebRTC), or Social Networking is advantageous.
Previous role as a lead developer on new or greenfield cloud service projects.
Expertise in developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud microservices using Kubernetes.
A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, identity, network, storage) and experience with deployment automation tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or similar.
Demonstrated ability to build and operate highly available services in a DevOps environment as a technical leader.
Experience in collaborating with remote teams.
A proactive individual with strong ownership and initiative, ready to contribute to new product delivery.

This position has a hiring range in USD from $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. Eligibility for bonus and equity may apply.
