- Dublin (Building Services Consultancy) A well-established building services consultancy based in Dublin is seeking an M&E CAD Technician to join their growing design team.
The company delivers high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and infrastructure projects.
This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically challenging developments, contributing to full project lifecycles from initial concept through to detailed design and construction support.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to industry-leading practices in building services design, working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside experienced engineers and project managers Key Projects: Large-scale mixed-use urban development in Dublin City, incorporating commercial office space, residential units, and retail facilities with a strong focus on sustainable building services design.
New state-of-the-art healthcare facility, involving complex HVAC, medical gas, and electrical systems requiring high levels of coordination and compliance.
Major data centre expansion project in the Greater Dublin area, supporting critical infrastructure with advanced cooling and power distribution systems.
Duties: Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical building services systems, including HVAC, public health, and power distribution.
Produce accurate 2D drawings in AutoCAD, with exposure to 3D modelling in Revit where applicable.
Translate engineering concepts into detailed layouts, schematics, and coordinated service drawings.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver design outputs in line with project requirements and timelines.
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations, and client specifications.
Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues across multidisciplinary teams.
Update and revise drawings based on design development and feedback.
Maintain organised project documentation and provide ongoing technical support to the design team.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
CAD certification or equivalent practical experience.
Previous experience in a CAD Technician role, ideally within a building services or M&E consultancy environment.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with Revit/BIM experience considered an advantage.
Good understanding of building services systems and coordination principles. xcfaprz
