Key Responsibilities
Network Design & Implementation
Design and deploy wired and wireless network solutions, including firewalls, switches, access points, and VPNs. Architect multi-site and multi-VLAN networks, including segmentation for voice, IoT, and security. Conduct network assessments, create diagrams, and recommend improvements. Configure and deploy solutions using platforms such as Ubiquiti, Peplink, Cisco/Meraki, and other vendor technologies. Network Management & Support
Manage day-to-day network operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Handle escalations from the service desk involving connectivity, routing, switching, DHCP/DNS, and Wi-Fi. Respond to and resolve critical network outages, including after-hours/on-call rotation as required. Support VoIP deployments including VLAN tagging, QoS, SIP troubleshooting, and firewall adjustments. Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain network security policies and configurations (firewall rules, VPN access, intrusion protection). Participate in security hardening efforts aligned with NIST 800-171, CMMC, HIPAA, and MSP best practices. Assist with vulnerability mitigation, firmware updates, and secure remote access solutions. Ensure networks meet STG cybersecurity standards under our CyberSecure framework. Documentation & Client Engagement Maintain detailed documentation including diagrams, configurations, and change logs within HaloPSA. Communicate clearly with clients on recommendations, incidents, and project progress. Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and collaborate with project managers and leadership. Requirements
2-5+ years of hands-on networking experience (MSP experience preferred). Must pass background check. Strong knowledge of routing and switching (VLANs, STP, subnetting, OSPF/BGP basics). Experience with firewalls and VPNs (Ubiquiti, Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, etc.). Strong understanding of DHCP, DNS, NAT, QoS, and network performance tuning. Familiarity with Wi-Fi deployments and RF best practices. Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across the stack. Preferred Certifications
CompTIA Network+, Security+ Cisco CCNA/CCNP Ubiquiti UEWA / Ubiquiti Enterprise certifications Fortinet NSE certifications Peplink Certified Engineer
