MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement data science capabilities to achieve client mission goals. You will collaborate with a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data architects to leverage AI, data science, and data analytics to deliver client solutions. The ideal candidate will have solid data engineering skills and a client-oriented approach to applying technology to develop mission-ready data products that accelerate operational decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and improve mission effectiveness.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support data science and analytics initiatives, utilizing tools like SQL and big data technologies. Develop and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems into target repositories (data warehouses, Data Lakes, etc.). Integrate national intelligence feeds, sensors, and open-source information into a unified data layer. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with security protocols throughout the data lifecycle. Design appropriate data models based on requirements and assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouses. Optimize data pipeline architecture for performance, scalability, and mission-critical analysis. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automation and infrastructure redesign. Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a field such as Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science and at least 4myears of hands-on experience in data engineering or related roles. Experience developing and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets for use in analysis Proficiency in SQL or other industry-standard data manipulation languages. Demonstrated ability with data integration and ETL tools and concepts (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi). Experience implementing data quality controls. Experience with scalable infrastructure (e.g., cloud platforms, distributed systems) for processing and storing large amounts of data. Preferred Qualifications :
Masterโs degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Advana or Palantir Foundry) Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI). Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, CompTIA Security+). Experience at a DoD Combatant Command Clearance Requirements:
Must possess a current and active TS with SCI Eligibility Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
