Data Engineer
The candidate will act as a technical architect/developer for major systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs for the Digital Engineering team. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.). Work closely with client and IT management and staff to identify application architecture solutions, new or modified programs, reuse of existing code through the use of program development software alternatives, or integration of purchased solutions or a combination of the available alternatives. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution.
Responsibilities / Duties Provide technical expertise through a hands-on approach to teams and projects developing capabilities for one or more application within Digital IT. Assists in translation of business requirements into meaningful requirements or stories. Architectural roadmap(s) - short term/long term Apply expertise and research designs with subject matter experts to devise requirements, design specifications, and usage criteria for Cloud solutions. Maintain involvement in continuous improvement of Cloud solution processes, tools and templates. Responsible for leading the design and maintaining solutions conformant to enterprise standards, architecture, and technologies. Provide oversight, direction and mentoring to ensure adherence to business direction, architectural strategies, and enterprise technology standards. Offer guidance on use of appropriate Cloud tools to meet project needs. Collaborate with developers and business users for overall design oversight on Cloud solutions Maintain expertise and proficiency with Cloud technologies using business intelligence best practices. Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of business domains, heath care analytics, and industry trends Demonstrates and promotes creativity and innovation. Proactively seeks out alternative solutions to business problems. General Qualifications / Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline strongly preferred, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of five years' experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, complex environment. Strong communication skills geared towards effective communication of concepts, design rationale and findings to the organization. Track record of consistently driving projects to completion and taking accountability for work and results. Confronts tough issues and situations. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments. Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively. Ability to estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives. Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation. Required Technical Qualifications / Skills
Excellent Data analysis skills Ability to rapidly prototype and storyboard/wireframe development as part of application design Comfortable in configuring and using multiple operating systems (Mac/Windows/*nix) Experience with disciplined software development lifecycle Ability to communicate at various levels within large organizations Knowledge of Cloud tool performance/tuning/measurement and usage criteria to drive appropriate tool selections and use Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with service offerings full AWS platform AWS architecture including: IAM, ELB, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lamda, Cloudformation, Cloudfront, Autoscaling, EMR, Data Pipeline, Security Groups, Route53, DataBricks RESTful service design, documentation, and implementation experience; AWS API Gateway experience preferred Leverage a successful balance between security, access control, and auditing capabilities in the public cloud; AWS IAM, AWS Config, and AWS key management preferred
