Summary BlackRock Resources is seeking a Mechanical Applications Engineer with HVAC experience for our client, a growing leader in data center cooling solutions.
In this role, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and commercial execution, leading projects from initial RFQ/RFP through equipment selection, proposal development, and delivery. You'll serve as a key technical liaison between customers and internal teams, delivering high-performance cooling solutions in a fast-paced, high-growth market.
Responsibilities
Review RFQs/RFPs and analyze customer specifications, heat loads, and system requirements Select and configure HVAC equipment including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, DX, and VRF systems Develop detailed technical proposals including pricing, Bills of Materials, and scope of work Deliver proposals within fast turnaround timelines (typically 2-3 days) Serve as the primary point of contact from proposal through project delivery and startup Coordinate with internal teams and manufacturing partners to ensure successful execution Track project schedules, costs, and risks to meet customer commitments Provide technical application support to customers and internal stakeholders Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and technical presentations Support contract review, pricing alignment, and solution optimization
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 7+ years of experience in applications engineering, project engineering, or technical sales of data center cooling systems or large industrial HVAC applications Strong knowledge of chiller systems, CRAC/CRAH units, DX, and/or VRF systems, heat load calculations and equipment selection Experience interpreting technical specifications and delivering customer-focused solutions Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a customer-facing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP tools (Salesforce a plus)
