About

Who we are: We love what we do and what we do is important! We believe that everyone should leave feeling better – this means not just our guests and owners, but also our teammates. Everyone should go home feeling better because they learned something new or had fun working that day. Therefore, we hire unique individuals who work together to create amazing experiences for our guests. We recognize that every member of the team contributes to the success of the whole organisation. No-one is more important than anyone else, and unless we are in it together, we can’t create that special experience for our guests. The Hotel: Bringing the brand back to where it all began, Virgin Hotel London-Shoreditch brings personalized hospitality to Shoreditch. Like its counterparts in the UK and US, the hotel offers the unmistakable Virgin experience, personalized hospitality, top-notch amenities, and a prime location in one of London's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Located at 45 Curtain Road, the property will see a phased transformation of the 120 bedrooms and 14 Suites, as well as the hotel’s street-level lobby lounge and café. The hotel's offering also includes the vibrant Spanish restaurant BiBo by renowned chef Dani Garcia. Guests further benefit from access to the rooftop bar, swimming pool, Marlin’s Mediterranean restaurant, gym, and treatment rooms that form a sophisticated private members’ club sanctuary run by Blue Marlin Ibiza. About the role: The Assistant Director of Sales is a multi-tasking machine with strong community relations and an excellent reputation amongst clients. They also support our hotel family and create an epic experience for our guests. With an awesome team and reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, the Assistant Director of Sales will be responsible for prospecting clients and cultivating relationships. Using previous experience in the hotel sales arena, the Assistant Director of Sales is directly responsible for developing transient accommodation, events, and groups from our backyard to meet revenue goals. The Nitty-Gritty: What exactly you will be doing… Through the usual functions (sales presentations, prospecting, sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, and business travel), the Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for developing business and meeting revenue goals. Our candidate seeks out new opportunities and responds authentically and professionally. The Assistant Director of Sales is cool under pressure and specializes in problem-solving. Through their untouched relationships, they have their finger on the pulse with supply, demand, and market fluctuations. Constantly evolving quarterly action plans will be prepared and accounts will be targeted. The Assistant Director of Sales will follow the sales & catering guidelines to book the highest quality business. Reports will be cultivated, and we do have some rules and standards to live by (but we promise not to make it too painful). Timely responses to clients and proactive communication within the hotel are musts, and using “us”, “we”, and “our” are the keys to success. We live to learn.
