About
The Program Director partners directly with teaching staff both in and out of the classroom, building trusting relationships through hands-on coaching, meaningful training, and ongoing professional development. With a supportive and reflective approach, the Director helps educators feel confident, valued, and inspired to deliver consistent, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction.
In addition, the Program Director ensures staff files are well-organized, accurate, and compliant, maintaining documentation for credentials, evaluations, training records, and required certifications. Working collaboratively with teachers and administrative staff, the Program Director fosters a culture of accountability, continuous growth, and program excellence. This role also provides daily classroom support and substitute coverage as needed.

*Key Responsibilities*
*Curriculum and Assessment Implementation*
-Ensure lead teachers and teams use Teaching Strategies and Creative Curriculum with fidelity with education, mentoring, observation, and accountability
-Ensure curriculum aligns with organizational goals, standards, and regulatory requirements
-Support teachers to individualize curriculum and assessment to meet the needs of each child
-Monitor Teaching Strategies for quality and support continuous improvement
-Review lesson plans weekly to ensure they align with curriculum standards
*Teacher Training & Professional Development*
-Plan and coordinate ongoing training for teaching staff
-Provide coaching, guidance, and instructional support for educators in collaboration with the Executive Director
-Model positive guidance and appropriate behavior management
-Identify professional development needs and ensure compliance with required training hours and support all staff with PDIS
*Staff Guidance & Support*
-Collaborate with leadership to support, mentor, and guide teaching staff
-Participate with ED in Human Resources research, creation of Records of Communication and Performance Improvement Plans, and staff communication and support with improvement
-Support daily in classrooms, including substitute coverage
-Promote consistent instructional practices across the program
-Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment, including supporting staff engagement and satisfaction
-Coordinate staff appreciation with Board Staff Appreciation Committee
-Create and manage the weekly teaching schedule
*Staff File Organization & Compliance*
-Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential staff files.
-Ensure documentation of credentials, certifications, evaluations, and training records
-Monitor compliance with licensing, accreditation, and organizational policies including staffing/ratio/coverage
*Student & Family Responsibilities*
-Facilitate communication with families and teachers in coordination with ED and AD
-Liaise with outside agencies (i.e., Community Connections, ChildFind)
-Coordinate enrichment programs (i.e., dance, yoga)
*Program Quality & Compliance*
-Ensure program operations meet applicable regulations and standards
-Support audits, licensing visits, and accreditation reviews
-Implement systems for documentation, accountability, and continuous improvement
*Qualifications *
* Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (multiple ECE college courses required)
* Must meet Colorado state qualifications for Large Center Director through the Professional Development Information System (PDIS); holding a Level 3 credential or higher.
* Be self-reflective, collaborative, supportive, sense of humor, passionate, flexible, trustworthy, creative, calm
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with co-workers and parents and ability to create excellent rapport with young children
* Understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
* Experience mentoring or supervising other staff members and giving clear direction and feedback
* Familiarity with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, or similar tools
* Teaching Strategies Interrater Reliability (IRR) or pass within 1 month of employment
* Coach credential or enroll in program within 6 months of employment
* Multilingual abilities are a strong asset
* CPR and First Aid certification
* Successful completion of all background checks
*Physical Requirements*
* Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motion are all physical requirements of the position
* Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and to supervise children effectively.
*Work Environment & Schedule*
* Full-time schedule (Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week)
* May require attendance to occasional evening events or parent meetings
* Classroom setting with children ages 6 weeks-5 years
* Must meet health and safety standards
*Team Structure*
* Reports to Executive Director
* Daily supervision all teaching staff along with ED and AD

$24-$26/hour non-exempt full time
