Progress Rail is looking to recruit a Sales and Commercial Support Manager to liaise with both clients and internal colleagues ensuring timely costing, preparation and submission of quotations and tenders as required by the business.
THE ROLE:
As a Sales and Commercial Support Manager
you will be required to:
Provide basic assessment of clients commercial requirements including price, delivery, and any terms and conditions that may influence price.
Through internal liaison (including travelling to various PRSUK sites as required) with the technical, commercial, manufacturing, engineering and supply chain departments, calculate accurate prices for quotations and tenders and standard price lists as necessary. Prices will be established from a variety of sources and presented as a detailed breakdown or based on sound knowledge of the product, market and previous similar estimates or submissions.
Preparation and submission of price schedules in a timely manner in the format required for quotations and tenders, accounting for the appropriate commercial requirements.
Where applicable, ensure prices are approved to delegated authority levels.
Ensure internal commercial compliance is achieved as required under the role.
Oversee and be responsible for the successful submission of applications for payment and variations to contract undertaken by direct report(s).
Ensure that contractual commercial requirements are adhered to.
Support direct report(s) by liaising with the client to provide contractual understanding and solve commercial issues that may arise.
Ensure that the relevant staff are kept up to date of progress and are made aware of any issues that may affect a contract.
Provide cost analysis in a suitable professional format as requested.
Respond to business and client requests for cost information.
Challenge costs where possible within delegated authority.
Attend and contribute to internal and client facing meetings.
Where requested, liaise with appropriate bodies for commercial / legal requirements such as terms and conditions, and ensure commercial compliance to company regulations.
Monthly reporting and provision of statistics as required.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Sales and Commercial Support Manager:
2-5 years experience in tender preparation and cost calculation preferred.
Have an Engineering / Manufacturing background.
An excellent understanding of MS Office, in particular Excel.
Good product knowledge and/or the ability to rapidly learn new technology and engineering concepts.
Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and understand the clients requirements.
Have excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage and mentor direct reports.
Skilled in time management, set priorities and work to strict deadlines.
Strong numeric and literacy skills.
Full and clean drivers license.
