Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Chicago, Illinois? We are hiring for a skilled individual to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within our warehouse. Your efficiency and accuracy are crucial to maintaining our operational flow and ensuring inventory integrity. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of forklift operations, a proven safety record, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid forklift certification is required. Safety is our utmost concern, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and to consistently wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires physical stamina and attention to detail. Responsibilities include performing pre-operation checks on equipment, moving pallets of goods to and from receiving, storage, and shipping areas, assisting with loading and unloading trucks, and participating in inventory cycle counts. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This is a great chance to contribute to a busy and dynamic logistics operation.
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to transport materials.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper securing of loads.
- Move products from receiving to storage and from storage to shipping areas.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from various levels of racking.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and report any equipment issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock taking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all warehouse safety rules.
- Strict adherence to PPE requirements is mandatory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations and meet daily goals.
