We are seeking a skilled and dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. This role is critical to the efficient operation of our warehouse, involving the safe and accurate handling of goods. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and supporting various warehouse functions. A strong emphasis on safety and compliance with all regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments promptly and accurately.
- Move materials to and from receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and verify quantities against documentation.
- Store inventory in appropriate locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Assist with order picking and packing processes as needed.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies, utilizing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse workspace.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth operational flow.
This position requires a valid forklift certification and demonstrable experience in material handling within a logistics or distribution environment. Candidates must be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.
