We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our warehouse inventory, supporting our overall logistics operations. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring that our inventory data is precise and up-to-date. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach are key to success in this position. You will work closely with warehouse and management teams to ensure efficient stock management. This position requires diligence and a strong understanding of inventory control principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Process inventory adjustments, including receipts, returns, and transfers.
- Monitor stock levels and report potential shortages or overages.
- Ensure proper organization and labeling of inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist in receiving and put-away processes to ensure accurate entry into inventory.
- Implement and adhere to established inventory control procedures.
- Support logistics and operations teams with inventory-related data and reports.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling techniques and the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and WMS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with lifting and moving inventory is helpful but not the primary focus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and accuracy.
