We are hiring skilled Forklift Operators for our busy facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in moving materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety record, excellent operating skills, and a commitment to maintaining a productive work environment. This role is critical to our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, and organize inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from designated storage locations within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance needs.
- Ensure the safe and efficient staging of goods for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift safety procedures.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus.
