This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all incoming goods are processed accurately and efficiently, setting the stage for successful order fulfillment. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders, and entering data into our inventory system. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to tasks. While some manual handling is involved, the ability to perform lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally is required. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment and provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and thorough safety training. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect deliveries for any damage or discrepancies.
- Verify received items against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately record received goods in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label inventory as required.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or related role is preferred.
- Proficiency with WMS or inventory tracking software is a plus.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to perform lifting tasks up to 35 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
