Join our dedicated team in Indianapolis, Indiana as an Order Picker! We are searching for efficient and accurate individuals to fulfill customer orders in our fast-paced distribution center. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets, ensuring that all products are picked correctly and prepared for shipment. This role is a cornerstone of our logistics and fulfillment process. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret pick lists or use scanning equipment to locate and select items.
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations according to order specifications.
- Verify product information (SKU, quantity, description) before placing items in the appropriate container.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping station using carts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Ensure accuracy of orders to minimize shipping errors and customer dissatisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Report any damaged or missing items to a supervisor immediately.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, including the proper use of PPE.
- Follow all lifting and material handling procedures to ensure personal and team safety.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in order picking, warehousing, or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand pick lists and product labels.
- Familiarity with RF scanners or other warehouse technology is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Proficiency in safe lifting techniques and proper material handling is crucial.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime when necessary.
