About
We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products within our warehouse. Safety and efficiency are paramount. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations. This is a key position that contributes significantly to the smooth functioning of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move inventory.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, trailers, and storage areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and safety.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of the forklift and report any mechanical issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandated use of PPE.
- Follow proper lifting techniques and material handling protocols to prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Contribute to the overall productivity and success of the logistics operations.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in safe lifting practices and material handling is a must.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE, such as safety shoes, gloves, and high-visibility vests.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and accident-free workplace.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
