Job Description The Information Technology Division is seeking a Network Engineer to provide network services such as troubleshooting, monitoring, engineering, cabling (Data/Voice), performance evaluation, and system optimization. ** The role may require statewide travel, including occasional overnight stays to perform work.

The selected candidate will be responsible for: Designing, implementing, and improving network infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability. Working with vendors to develop solutions, define network policies, troubleshoot network failures, and manage vendor relationships. Managing network performance, scalability, and security. Supporting multi-site network installations, migrations, and maintenance. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate and interact with multiple vendors for troubleshooting and problem resolution. Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required.

Must-Have Skills (Required Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including analysis of network requirements and performance for large-scale networks. 5+ years of experience in data and telecommunications, including installing, testing, and inspecting deployed communications systems. Experience in network installation, maintenance, and support of critical, multi-site networks. Strong understanding of wired and wireless technologies, including: Fiber Optics, T1, DS-3, MPLS Cellular Technologies (5G, CDMA, TDMA) VoIP, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and IP Networking Concepts (subnetting, routing) Experience testing copper and fiber cabling systems. bility to troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues efficiently. Experience managing network vendors and service providers for issue resolution.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred Qualifications) 2+ years of experience with networking tools, such as: Fluke Versiv with Light Meter netAlly AirCheck G3 netAlly nXG iperf3, nmap, Wireshark, Traceroute 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio). Familiarity with wireless access points (WAP), LAN/WAN networks, and Cradle Point/NetCloud solutions. Experience with network security protocols and firewall configurations. Knowledge of CI/CD methodologies for network automation.
