YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):

This job is located on-site at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. Remote work is not available for this position.

The Security Analyst will play a vital role in keeping all IT-related security, safety issues, and the day-to-day functionality of all network-related hardware and software secure. The Security Analyst will be responsible for generating reports for IT administrators and business managers to evaluate the efficacy of the security policies in place. Security Analyst will help make necessary changes for a more secure network and may also create training programs and modules to educate employees and users on proper security protocols.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties): Evaluate workload and capacity of computer systems to determine feasibility of expanding or enhancing computer operations; recommend improvements in computer systems Assist Network & Security Manager in the layout and installation of new systems or modification of existing systems Work with Network & Security Manager to create, maintain and test an effective disaster recovery plan for the property; conducts periodic testing of disaster recovery plan, including routine restoration of system backups Responsible for ensuring proper pickup and delivery of off-site tape backups. Assist in configuring system access for all users and all systems in conjunction with the Network & Security Manager Other duties as assigned WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)

Security+ or higher security certs Experienced troubleshooter Entry level programming using scripting languages Firewall/IPS/IDS management Windows/Linux server management Actively pursuing degree or certifications in Information Security, continuing education Works well under pressure Able to lift 50 pounds Reliable transportation, able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, on-call 24hrs, and able to travel to the office at any time of day/night MUST HAVE'S

Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English Respond to, analyze, and remediate any security alerts/events or helpdesk/soc tickets escalated to network security Scan for anomalies/vulnerabilities using security toolset Perform forensic activities in relation to cyber alerts Updates/upgrades of servers and network security systems Maintain runbooks and data flow diagrams Create and keep security systems documentation updated Work closely with vendors to resolve issues Email searches Email security Manage Group Policies Firewall administration Intrusion Prevention administration Event Logs/Monitoring Anti-Virus Administration Malware/Spyware/Adware remediation Password/Privileged Account Management Respond to compliance audit requests Web security Data privacy Automate tasks with scripting Report/update management on assigned tasks Periodically attend vendor sponsored training Other duties as assigned WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

Bachelor's degree in cyber security or computer science, or equivalent training; preferably MCSE certified Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, including Active Directory and Group Policies THE WORKING CONDITIONS

Sitting for long periods of time. Long visual exposure to computer screen(s). Working both independently and interdependently depending on work tasks, projects, special initiatives. Possibly experience job related stress due to tight deadlines, demands, crisis management.
