About
We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics hub in Durham, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will oversee the accurate and efficient processing of all outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipment details, preparing shipping labels and documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all packages are ready for timely dispatch. You will be the final point of contact before goods leave our facility, making accuracy and attention to detail paramount. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to workplace safety is essential; you will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all established safety procedures. While not primarily a Lifting role, occasional assistance with moving packages may be required. Experience with shipping software and common carrier systems is highly preferred. Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping orders against outgoing packages for accuracy.
- Generate and affix accurate shipping labels and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure packages are properly consolidated and staged for carrier pickup.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, particularly in peak seasons.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent communication skills. A solid understanding of shipping procedures and logistics is a significant advantage. This role ensures the smooth flow of products out of our facility.
