Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and store materials within our warehouse. Your role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our distribution center, contributing directly to our operational success. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to transport materials between various warehouse locations.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
  • Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Stack and arrange materials in designated areas, maintaining an organized and hazard-free environment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and warehouse regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, coordination, and occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and other protective gear as needed.
