Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining records of outgoing goods. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and the efficiency of our logistics network. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail are essential. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all guidelines is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate with common carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Verify shipment details against customer orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain organized shipping records and files.
  • Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure proper packaging and labeling.
  • Operate shipping dock equipment, including scales and scanners.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with inventory management and receiving as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in business or logistics is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related administrative/warehouse role.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and order management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Familiarity with various shipping methods and carrier requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external partners.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices.
  • Ability to handle moderate Lifting tasks if required.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to PPE requirements.
