We are hiring a skilled Material Handler to join our busy logistics center in Los Angeles, California. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved, stored, and retrieved efficiently and safely. You will be operating various pieces of equipment and contributing to our overall supply chain success. A strong focus on safety, including the correct use of PPE, is paramount. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key player in our dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mechanical equipment to move, sort, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and containers accurately and safely.
- Place received goods into designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and rotation.
- Pick items from inventory for order fulfillment, preparing them for shipment.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and discrepancy investigations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of required PPE.
- Support the logistics team in achieving daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety guidelines within the facility.
- Perform other material handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Certification to operate forklifts and other relevant equipment is a must.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and logistics operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds, on a frequent basis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be committed to wearing all required PPE.
