Hardscape Foreman

Job Description

Landscaping by J. Michael is hiring a Hardscape Foreman or Masonry and Hardscape Foreman to join our growing team. We’re looking for an experienced, hands on leader who takes pride in high quality craftsmanship and knows how to keep projects moving efficiently in the field. This role is ideal for someone with strong hardscape and landscape construction experience who can lead a crew, manage job site execution, and deliver excellent finished work.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and supervise crew members on hardscape and landscape construction projects
• Lay out projects accurately before installation begins
• Build and install hardscape features including patios, walkways, paver surfaces, natural stone walls, bluestone, and segmental retaining walls
• Assist with site preparation, grading, and project execution as needed
• Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively, including cut-off saws, angle grinders, mason trowels, compactors, laser levels, shovels, hammers, skid steers, and mini excavators
• Ensure work is completed to company quality standards and project specifications
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
• Help maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment through proper use, cleanliness, and routine care
• Communicate with management and crew members to keep projects on track

What We’re Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in masonry, hardscape, or landscape construction
• Strong knowledge of hardscape installation techniques and materials
• Experience leading or directing a crew on job sites
• Ability to read layouts, execute plans, and manage field production
• Comfortable operating equipment and using construction tools daily
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced field environment
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card
• Hydraulic license preferred
• CDL Class B preferred
