Job Description:
At Disney, we're storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company is a world-class entertainment and technological leader. Walt's passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world-a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences - and we're
constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.
The Enterprise Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise
efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Our group drives competitive advantage by enhancing our
consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.
Team Description:
In the Global Network Engineering & Operations team, we are responsible for the Disney Global Network, the Studio Production Network and many other worldwide networks that support film-making, sports, parks, resorts, and all of the departments that make our businesses run
Responsibilities:
Engineer, implement, and support complex enterprise network infrastructure spanning routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, load balancers, transport, and hybrid cloud connectivity in large-scale production environments. Lead advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution across multi-domain network architectures, performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions that improve long-term reliability and performance. Participate in the design, validation, and deployment of resilient, scalable network solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, security requirements, and operational best practices. Serve as a technical escalation point for complex operational issues, partnering closely with Network Operations, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Automation, and Platform teams to resolve cross-functional challenges. Translate business and technical requirements into implementation plans, including detailed methods of procedure (MOPs), test plans, rollback strategies, and operational handoffs. Contribute to capacity planning, performance baselining, and resilience improvements, including high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies. Support and influence automation and operational efficiency initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve observability, and enhance reliability through tooling and process improvements. Create, maintain, and review technical documentation such as network diagrams, design artifacts, standards, operational procedures, and runbooks to ensure accuracy and operational readiness. Act as a technical liaison between network engineering and adjacent production engineering teams to support critical workflows, integrations, and media pipelines. Interface with other Disney entities and external partners to support cross-segment networking, file transport, and secure sharing of media assets and infrastructure services. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting knowledge sharing, skill development, and adherence to engineering standards. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, proactively identifying risks, proposing solutions, and helping evolve network engineering practices across the organization. Required Qualifications & Skills:
5-8+ years of progressive experience engineering, implementing, and supporting large-scale enterprise, studio, or service-provider network environments operating in a 24x7x365 model. Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and implementing complex WAN, LAN, MAN, and data center network solutions in production environments. Strong working expertise in multi-vendor network environments, including platforms such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, F5, or equivalent. Proven ability to lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across multi-domain network architectures, resolving high-impact issues and driving long-term corrective actions. Deep understanding of core networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation principles. Strong practical expertise with routing and switching technologies, such as BGP, IS-IS, STP, VXLAN, EVPN, and MPLS, applied at enterprise scale. Experience designing and supporting high-availability, resilient, and secure network architectures, including redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery considerations. Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, segmentation, and secure inter-network connectivity. Experience implementing and operating monitoring, telemetry, and observability solutions to proactively identify performance, capacity, and reliability issues. Solid experience with public and hybrid cloud networking (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), including connectivity models, routing integration, and hybrid architectures. Working knowledge of virtualized, overlay, and software-defined networking environments. Experience contributing to or leading automation and configuration management efforts, using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, or equivalent frameworks. Ability to translate technical and business requirements into implementation plans, including MOPs, test plans, rollback strategies, and operational handoff documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document designs, standards, and operational procedures clearly and effectively. Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to shared engineering standards and best practices. Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support for critical network operations and major initiatives. Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating senior-level network engineering capability. Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSA/PCNSE, or equivalent are strongly preferred. Advanced or specialized certifications (e.g., cloud networking, security, automation) are a plus.
